New US Trailer for 'Eagles of the Republic' Political Thriller from Egypt

"We are the shield that protects the country." Cohen Media Group has posted their official US trailer for a film called Eagles of the Republic, the latest film by Egyptian-Swedish filmmaker - following his work on The Nile Hilton Incident, The Contractor, and Cairo Conspiracy. A love letter to Egyptian cinema, Eagles of the Republic is writer-director Tarik Saleh's film noir following Egypt’s most adored actor George Fahmy as he is pressured to star in a film commissioned by the highest authorities. Fahmy reluctantly accepts the role and finds himself thrown into the inner circle of power. Then like a moth drawn to the flame, he begins an affair with the mysterious wife of the general overseeing the film. Starring Fares Fares as George, with Lyna Khoudri, Amr Waked, and Zineb Triki. This premiered at last year's Cannes Film Festival and finally opens in US theaters in April. Described as a "deftly & daringly blending fact & fiction." Check it out.
